Towne Trail - Big Bear Lake, Ca
Distance: 1.2 miles
Elevation: From 6760ft @ Snow Summit to 6920ft @ 2n08
The Towne Trail connects the base area of Snow Summit with fireroad 2N08 and Knickerbocker Rd.
It is a great hike which you can start from the village area by walking up Knickerbocker Road to the fireroad behind the Knickerbocker Mansion. After a steep climb the Towne Trail starts between some boulders at a U-turn in the road.
It meanders through the National Forest just behind a neighborhood of houses.
This trail is also used when riding bikes down from the Scenic Sky Chair at Snow Summit to get back to the chairlift from trails West of Snow Summit.
